More than 12 years ago, the director began with a simple but powerful dream: to give back, to care, and to create a place where children could truly feel loved, safe, and believed in. What started as a personal desire to one day adopt grew into a bigger calling – to change lives on a wider scale. Working in residential care, he discovered his purpose. The young people felt his passion, trusted his heart, and thrived in his presence. From changing the culture of the home for the best interests of the children, supporting and inspiring staff through true leadership, to putting on the first party within the house celebrating one of the young people’s 16th birthday — bringing everyone within the home together as one family with music, food, laughter and shared joy — it was clear: this was more than a job. Every step since has been intentional. Every move strategic. No rushing, no shortcuts – only careful planning, the right knowledge, and the vital, valid experience needed to give young people the best possible start toward a brighter future. Claris Homes is named in honour of an extraordinary woman who was very close to the Director’s heart. She raised her seven children with unwavering love, strong values, and a deep commitment to safeguarding, care, and protection. Claris was always there for other children outside of her own family too, showing them the same care, compassion, and empathy as she gave to her own. She created a home where every child felt safe, supported, and guided into adulthood. Her heart welcomed everyone, regardless of background, faith, gender, or ethnicity, and she treated all with equal fairness and compassion.
